Cadiz, Spain (2006)

In cooperation with the Spanish rail consultancy Ardanuy Axel Kuehn was involved during 2006 in the Chiclana-San Fernando-Cadiz TramTrain project - his first Spanish project ever.

The Cadiz TramTrain project is the second project of this genre in Spain, but in difference to the first one in Alicante, it is dealing with ADIF-mainline infrastructure.

The study which Axel Kuehn delivered as part of a major technical study dealt with rolling stock issues, describing both state-of-the-art TramTrain and TrainTram-vehicles and major interfaces between the existing rail infrastructure, the planned tramway infrastructure in Chiclana and San Fernando and potential rolling stock options - thus in principle defining main vehicle parameters in a kind of pre-specification.
