Coventry-Nuneaton, UK (2004)

A longer lasting relation to CENTRO (see study-tours section) has been revived in 2004 with a feasibility study dealing with the Coventry to Nuneaton railway line and its future role, possibly its conversion to light rail operation including shared track scenarios. This study was performed together with the UK branch of Parsons Brinckerhoff, UK consultants INTERFLEET and the Tyne & Wear PTE NEXUS, the latter being involved with regard to their unique UK-experience regarding shared track operation (Sunderland extension).

The subtasks of Axel Kuehn have been to deliver a report on state-of-the-art technologies and solutions in the TramTrain/TrainTram world, to perform a study tour with the client's project group (again see study-tours …) and to participate in the overall quality control for the study.
